Oregon Overtime Calculator

Oregon adds a daily overtime rule for factory work — time and a half after 10 hours in mills, factories and manufacturing establishments — and runs three regional minimum wages. It is also one of the states where the federal overtime deduction lowers state tax.

ORS 652.020 and the manufacturing day

Manufacturing employees may not be required to work more than 10 hours a day or 55 hours a week (60 with written consent), and up to three extra hours a day are allowed at 1½ times the regular rate, calculated on both a daily and a weekly basis with the larger figure paid. Sawmills, planing mills, shingle mills and logging camps have a separate 8-hour daily limit. Turn on “manufacturing establishment” in the calculator to apply the 10-hour rule.

02

Three minimum wages

From July 1, 2026, BOLI’s schedule is $15.55 standard, $16.80 in the Portland metro area and $14.55 in non-urban counties, each adjusted every July 1 for inflation. Pick your area in the calculator options.

03

State tax: allowed, with one add-back

Oregon starts from federal taxable income, and its 2025 instructions say filers may claim the same deductions for tip income, overtime wages and car-loan interest that they claim federally. The 2026 disconnect bill, SB 1507, did not remove them. The deducted overtime is added back only when testing income for the Oregon Kids Credit. Separately, Oregon offers employers a tax credit for agricultural overtime pay (ORS 315.133).
