Several minimum wages, not one

The Department of Labor’s September 29, 2026 announcement also said the farm-worker rate reaches the $15 benchmark and that long-term care direct care staff move to $19.48. Gross Income Tax works differently
New Jersey does not compute tax from federal adjusted gross income at all; it taxes defined categories of income. That is why the Division of Taxation concluded that the federal overtime, tips and senior deductions do not affect the New Jersey return for 2025 through 2028.
