Mississippi Overtime Calculator

Mississippi has no minimum wage or overtime law of its own; the FLSA is the only source of an overtime right here. A 2026 bill to stop taxing overtime died in committee.

Where to take an overtime problem

Without a state wage-hour agency, Mississippi workers take overtime complaints to the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division. It gathers information from you, may visit the employer, and investigates under the FLSA.

02

HB 204 (2026)

Representative Clark’s bill would have amended § 27-7-15 of the Mississippi Code to exclude overtime compensation from the definition of gross income. It was referred to Ways and Means on January 7 and died in committee on February 25, 2026. Mississippi computes income under its own code, so the federal deduction does not carry over either.
